Decarbonising Shipping: A Panel Driving Real Change 

Our Managing Director, Stylianos Papageorgiou, took the stage to discuss the urgency and opportunity of decarbonising shipping. Joining a distinguished panel alongside Hélène Loncin (GTT – Gaztransport & Technigaz) and Duncan Turner (SOSV / HAX), and moderated by Anna Heim (TechCrunch), the conversation made one thing clear: the maritime industry’s path to a cleaner future is not just necessary—it’s investable. 

Key takeaways from the panel: 

• No silver bullet. There is no single solution to decarbonising shipping. The future will be shaped by a combination of efficiency measures, digitalisation, alternative fuels, and vessel retrofits. 
• Infrastructure needs to accelerate. Ports and supply chains must evolve rapidly to support the adoption of cleaner energy solutions. Without this, scalable change remains out of reach. 
• Collaboration is critical. Transforming the industry requires alignment among shipowners, startups, regulators, and financial backers. Silos will only slow progress.
